Smith+Nephew has begun a co-marketing agreement with JointVue for its OrthoSonic 3D surgery planning technology.
 
According to Smith+Nephew, OrthoSonic is the only ultrasound currently on the market that delivers 3D pre-operative planning. JointVue lets surgeons using Smith+Nephew’s Cori surgical system for robotic-assisted knee replacement create a personalized surgical plan.
 
Combining JointVue’s OrthoSonic technology and Cori, which has a small footprint and scalability, aims to be an ideal solution for Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), where OR space is limited.
 
The Cori surgical system features image-agnostic registration, with both image-free and MRI-powered options for pre-op planning. Adopting JointVue’s OrthoSonic 3D tech with Smith+Nephew implants offers access to another procedural solution that uses ultrasound to generate a 3D plan in minutes.
 
The radiation-free, automated planning tool guides surgeons to tailor the procedure to each patient.
