Acquisitions and product approvals topped ODT’s favored reading list this past week.

Augmedics and Elos Medtech drove traffic with their respective purchases while Axial3D and icotec scored regulatory approvals for their innovations.

Augmedics was the successful bidder for Surgalign and Holo Surgical’s digital health assets, a purchase that strengthens its augmented reality and artificial intelligence portfolio. Elos Medtech’s purchase of Klingel Holding GmbH, on the other hand, will bolster its contract development and manufacturing position with R&D capabilities and new tech expertise.

Axial3D garnered significant pageviews by scoring FDA clearance for its automated AI-driven, cloud-based segmentation platform for orthopedic trauma, orthopedic, maxillofacial, and cardiovascular applications. icotec achieved similar high (cyber) scores for the FDA 510(k) clearance of its VADER pedicle screw system navigation instruments, a move that enhances its portfolio of spine surgery solutions using BlackArmor Carbon/PEEK implants.

The Greater Memphis Medical Device Council also enticed ODT website loyalist with the announcement of its new executive director, Chris Locke.
