New offerings broaden implant and instrumentation options to support diverse patient anatomies and surgeon preferences.

Attendees at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Annual Scientific Conference this week in Las Vegas (Feb. 23-27) are making their initial acquaintance with Medline UNITE’s expanded Ankle Fracture and Foot Recon plating options. The enhanced trays are designed to provide surgeons with a wider range of sizes, styles, and instruments to address anatomical variation and individual technique preferences.
The comprehensive Ankle Fracture Plating System expands to 10 unique plate families with more than 50 unique options to address a wide range of ankle fracture patterns and approaches. New offerings from the Ankle Fracture Plating System include universal Lateral Flex Fibula plates, as well as Flex Fibula Hook and Flex Medial Malleolus Hook plates, each supported with targeting guides and inserters for efficient reduction and fixation.
The Foot Recon system adds expanded plate options for MTP fusions, Lapidus procedures, and TMT joint fusions, along with a new joint‑fenestration drill pin, small joint curettes, two autograft harvester sizes, and compression pins. These additions complement the existing suite of joint preparation instruments from the original set, including the joint distractor and small joint arthrotomes.
“The upgrades enhance support for the most common foot and ankle procedures by addressing broader patient anatomies, surgeon preferences and evolving surgical techniques,” said Scott Goldstein, vice president of product management for Medline UNITE. “They also streamline high‑use trays to help hospitals and ASCs reduce supply costs and improve sterile processing efficiency.”
Facilities often rely on multiple trays, peel‑packed instruments and single‑use kits from various vendors. The expanded implant and instrument options in Medline’s simplified tray designs aim to reduce these expenses and minimize operational complexity. The national rollout also supports facilities and healthcare systems with vendor or implant rationalization and standardization initiatives. With broader optionality to meet diverse surgeon needs, hospitals and ASCs can increase use and alignment across their full surgeon base.Medline claims to be the largest provider of medical-surgical products and supply chain solutions serving all points of care. Through its product portfolio, supply chain, and clinical solutions, Medline helps healthcare providers improve their clinical, financial, and operational outcomes. Headquartered in Northfield, Ill., the company employs more than 43,000 people worldwide and operates in over 100 countries.
