Highridge Medical today began the U.S. limited introduction of the activL Lumbar Disc, a motion preservation solution designed to restore function and maintain mobility for patients with lumbar disc degeneration.

Initial surgeries using the product have been completed at multiple disc replacement centers nationwide, the company reported. As part of the launch, Highridge Medical partnered with arthroplasty surgeons to support the product’s early adoption.

“We are excited to initiate the limited launch of the activL Lumbar Disc and expand access to this treatment option for surgeons and their patients,” Highridge Medical CEO Rebecca Whitney stated. “The strong early adoption and positive feedback from surgeons validate our strategy to broaden our motion preservation portfolio beyond our Mobi-C Cervical Disc. We are committed to delivering exceptional service and clinical support as we continue to scale availability.”

Early adopters of the activL Lumbar Disc have expressed strong confidence in the technology and its clinical performance, according to executives. This milestone marks a significant expansion of Highridge Medical’s portfolio.

Highridge Medical licensed the U.S. rights to the activeL Lumbar Disc last July.
