Orchid Orthopedic Solutions Appoints New COO and CFO

Kristie West and Derek Peabody will join the company in January 2022.

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, a leader in the design and manufacture of orthopedic implants, announced that Kristie West will join the company as chief operations officer (COO) on January 10, 2022, and Derek Peabody will join the company as chief financial officer (CFO) on January 17, 2022.
 
“Our vision is to be the premier provider of orthopedic implant solutions with a business that is operationally excellent and is a preferred destination for talent in our industry,” said Nate Folkert, Orchid’s chief executive officer. “I am pleased to announce the additions of Kristie West and Derek Peabody to the Orchid leadership team to help us achieve this vision.”

Kristie West

West comes to Orchid from General Electric’s Edison Works Programs and Operations team, where she was the senior executive director supporting the future of military combat and space. Prior to joining the Edison Works team, West was the senior executive for the Tubes & Ducts Value Stream in GE Aviation’s Supply Chain organization. She also held a number of leadership roles within GE, including director of operations for Unison Industries (a GE company); executive plant leader for Avio Aero (a GE company), in Torino, Italy; supply chain strategy leader for GE Aviation; and CF6 customer programs leader. Prior to GE, West held various leadership roles in manufacturing with Navistar (Indianapolis, IN) and Carrier Global Corporation (Texas & North Carolina).

Derek Peabody

Peabody comes to Orchid from Dexter Axle Company, where he was the chief financial officer. Dexter Axle Company is a market leader in engineering and manufacturing trailer axles and parts. Prior to joining the Dexter Axle team, Peabody was the vice president and group controller for Arconic Inc (previously part of Alcoa). In this role, Peabody had responsibility for financial reporting, strategic planning, and acquiring and integrating three new companies into Alcoa/Arconic.
