The timing couldn’t have been better for several of the top ODT website traffic drivers this past week, as their spine-related content coincided with this year’s annual meeting of the North American Spine Society (NASS).

The two exceptions to this rule were an Orthopedic Innovators Q&A on automation with two executives from rms, a Cretex Medical company, and DePuy Synthes‘ launch of its VELYS robotic-assisted total knee replacement solution in the European market, following successful total knee replacement surgeries in Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland. VELYS is used to assist surgeons with implanting the company’s Attune total knee system. The table-mounted solution helps them accurately resect bones to align and position the total knee implant relative to soft tissue during replacement, without needing pre-operative imaging.

Spine-related news amassing significant pageviews came from Stryker Corp., Spinal Elements, and VySpine. Stryker Corp. and Spinal Elements enticed cybervisitors (and perhaps NASS meeting participants) with their respective announcements about the technologies being showcased at the event. Stryker exhibited its Q Guidance System with Spine Guidance Software, which has been used to deliver enhanced surgical planning and navigation in more than 2,400 spinal cases, while Spinal Elements displayed its Karma device to treat degenerative spondylolisthesis with stenosis in the aging spine.

Finally, VySpine earned kudos from readers by gaining clearances for three products: additional connectors for the VySpan PCT system; the VyLam system, which is used for C3-T3 laminoplasty in skeletally mature patients; and more VyLink screw system. indications.
