The 2025 Top 10 Orthopedic Device Companies

It's another banner year for the orthopedic elite—all Top 10 members but one celebrated gains in their most recent fiscal years. Stryker once again led the pack, thanks to a double-digit sales percentage increase and string of acquisitions throughout the year.

Continuing its tradition of serial inorganic growth, last year Stryker welcomed SERF SAS, mfPHD, Artelon, MOLLI Surgical, Vertos Medical, NICO Corp., and Inari Medical into its fold. The company also shed its U.S. Spine Implants business to focus on other areas of growth. Medtronic held onto its Spine business despite the ever-present speculations of a divorce, opting to spin out its Diabetes business instead.

Globus Medical and Enovis, meanwhile, enjoyed significant revenue growth thanks to the full realization of blockbuster acquisition deals. Globus topped $2 billion in revenue for the first time thanks to the integration of NuVasive’s spine and enabling technologies. Enovis also exceeded the $2 billion high-water mark courtesy of its landmark €800 million purchase of LimaCorporate.

While nine-spot Embla Medical may look new to the list, it’s actually the newly christened parent company of Top 10 mainstay Össur. The name reflects the company’s Icelandic heritage—in Norse mythology, Embla was one of the world’s first humans.

Fresh leadership abounded as well. Three-year Globus CEO Daniel Scavilla left the company to head Dentsply Sirona and COO Keith Pfeil was promoted to the top job in his stead. Seven-year Enovis chief executive Matt Trerotola announced his retirement, with ex-LivaNova CEO Damien McDonald taking the corner office. Orthofix cleaned house in its C-Suite, appointing a new CEO, CFO, chief legal officer, and seven others to top executive positions last year following a scandal that removed several top managers from office.

We hope you enjoy reading this year’s Top 10 report.

Editors’ note: As you read our report, please take note that while the companies are ranked according to sales reported for their most recent fiscal year, some may include non-device and/or non-orthopedic sales within a division, such as device-related services. Not all companies explicitly break out the device portion of total revenues. We consulted numerous public documents and contacted company officials as needed to arrive at the best estimates.
