Audience/Reader

The developers and manufacturers of medical/orthopedic devices; contribution should be appropriate to that type of audience/reader.

What to Write

Medical device/orthopedic trends-centric presentation

• Focus on current industry trends, regulatory oversight, device sector focus, or some other area.

Medical/orthopedic technology-based solution or case history

• Share your experience/expertise or a medical device design/manufacturing success story.
• If you get a question repeatedly, responding in the form of an article is a great starting point.

(Articles for print consideration must be specifically arranged with editorial staff.)

Word Count (including author bio; images affect total word count)

Print Feature Article:  2,300 to 3,000 words    

Print Column:             ~1,400 words (plus an image/caption)

Online Contributions: 500 to 3,000 words

Deadlines

Online: Rolling deadline. No specific date; the sooner received, the sooner it is published online.

Print:   Arrange with editor. Contact editor about 90 days in advance of target issue month.

Contributed Content Checklist

• Send a brief abstract or outline of article idea to editor for consideration/review.
• Author (byline) – Include name, title, and company
• Images/Graphics/Charts

• Print/Online Article:      0 to 5; include captions (images may affect print word count limit)
• Print Column:               At least one image to accompany article; include captions
• Online blog style:          At least one image to accompany item; include captions

• We are unable to use articles/blogs that appear with another publisher.
• We will not run articles that are distributed via mass email.
• MPO/ODT follows AP style; submit contribution in that format as closely as possible.
• Articles/blogs that read like advertorials will not be accepted.
